My home is Denver, Colorado, but my memories and loved ones are what makes this place my home.
My family means everything to me. When I fly home every other weekend, I am not going to see my house, I am going to see my family.
I have been close to my mom ever since I was a baby. As I’ve gotten older, we’ve grown closer and she is my best friend.
Growing up I spent every summer at the pool. I went to swim team every morning and spent the rest of the day swimming, eating Otter Pops and running around with my friends.
My parents met when they were working at a golf course and my dad still plays in that course’s league. Last summer, my boyfriend worked at the same course, so I have spent almost every summer night there.
My boyfriend, Seth, and I go to college 1,400 miles apart. Being in Denver is very special to us because we get to spend time together and with our families.
I always loved Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day. I liked spending the day with my family and knowing that the next day we got to celebrate together in our PJs.
My grandparents are an inspiration to me. They still go on so many adventures and I hope to live my life like they do.
My family is connected through our dogs. When Winnie passed away we all struggled together until we were able to get our new puppies, Lucy and Bella.
During COVID, my family watched Community every night after dinner. The show reminds me of how close we became while being stuck at home for months.
I had a very small friend group in high school, but they will always be my sisters.
I am very grateful to still call my hometown my home. My family, memories, best friends and boyfriend are to thank.
